چکیده

In anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD), amended with a carbon source undergoes conditions accompanied by changes in microbial community composition and an increase the concentration of organic acids, primarily acetic butyric gases that are deleterious to plant pathogens, insects, potentially weeds. The purpose this study was explore efficacy ASD different sources on inactivation propagules variety weed species. Germination viability common lambsquarters (Chenopodium album L.), black nightshade (Solanum nigrum yellow nutsedge (Cyperus esculentus pokeweed (Phytolacca decandra barnyardgrass (Echinochloa crus-galli dandelion (Taraxacum officinale (Weber)), redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus L.) were tested using rates four sources: molasses, wheat bran, mustard greens biomass, raw chicken manure. Wheat bran most effective for all propagules, followed molasses biomass. Carbon mixed soil, which irrigated saturation covered plastic promote three weeks. Chicken manure inactivated species except A. compared control. Rates applied weakly but significantly correlated (r > 0.42 p < 0.04) seed mortality or germination inhibition (E. crus-galli) C. album, retroflexus, S. nigrum. Laboratory tests confirm acid toxicity showed 1000 µL L−1 plus acids at least 60 h inhibited sprouting tubers E. crusgalli seeds, whereas 120 exposure required inhibit germination. Anaerobic effectively suppressed when biomass used as sources. This approach could be adopted management systems any farming system where priority is given environmentally sustainable practices.

Perspectives of Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation

Biological soil disinfestation is an environmentally friendly method to disinfest soil. From now on we refer to it as anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD). With ASD a green manure crop (40 t/ha) is homogeneously incorporated into the topsoil (0-30 cm) after which the field is lightly compacted and irrigated. Subsequently the field is mechanically covered with air tight virtually impermeable film...

Unravelling the mechanism of pathogen inactivation during anaerobic soil disinfestation

Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation (ASD) for the control of multiple soilborne pathogens is a viable alternative to the application of biocides and soil steaming. ASD implies soil wetting, incorporation of fresh organic matter, and covering with airtight plastic foil for several weeks. To speed up the whole process, Thatchtec has developed a procedure based on defined agricultural products (referred...

Therefore, puddling for rice transplanting should be avoided as it has adverse effects on the succeeding upland crops. Unpuddled transplanting is an alternative method for rice establishment which can be adopted to overcome these problems and also to reduce cost of rice production. For this system, the lan...

Evaluation of Cover Crops with Potential for Use in Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation (ASD) for Susceptibility to Three Species of Meloidogyne.

Several cover crops with potential for use in tropical and subtropical regions were assessed for susceptibility to three common species of root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne arenaria, M. incognita, and M. javanica. Crops were selected based on potential use as organic amendments in anaerobic soil disinfestation (ASD) applications. Nematode juvenile (J2) numbers in soil and roots, egg production, a...
